Two of Sydney’s favourite indie female-fronted acts are teaming up for one sensational show where you get to give a little and get a little more!Maxine Kauter has been described as “… a cross between Sarah Blasko and Mazzy Star, mellow and enchanting” - Drum Media, Sydney. This stunning Sydney-based singer/songwriter grew up during the grunge explosion of the 90’s and the feisty independent spirit of that era has influenced her unwavering commitment to self-determination. In 2008 she formed the Maxine Kauter Band, a tight and professional quartet of talented musicians. Together they recorded a self-titled debut EP. This was followed up with 2011’s full-length album Alibech the Hermit to critical acclaim. Now this indie outfit are heading back to the studio to record their second album Dead to the World and they will officially launch their crowd funding campaign on Wednesday 27 June at the Vanguard. The Maxine Kauter Band made Alibech the Hermit available for free to their audience, this time they’re calling in a few favours to raise $5000 to make Dead to the World. Audience members will be treated to some tunes from the new album and will be the first to have the chance to pledge support for its creation and give a little.Blues/roots/rock talent Genevieve Chadwick launched on to the Oz music scene with a bang in 2010 and immediately grabbed the attention of industry and media “Genevieve Chadwick could quite easily be as big as John Butler. She looks like an angel, roars like a lion and plays guitar like a demon.” - Cath Butler, Editor of The Groove, BASEQ. Chadwick was quickly selected for a bunch of impressive Festival gigs including Woodford Folk Festival, where she received a standing ovation, Sydney Blues Festival, where she was invited up on stage by Baby Animals and Ash Grunwald, and the Blue Mountains Folk Festival, earning herself a queue that long, at the second show, punters had to be turned away.Renowned for her “give it all” performances audiences leave Genevieve Chadwick’s shows, knowing they saw this act before she was “big” and spreading word of her inevitable success. But this isn’t all they will be leaving with. Chadwick will mirror the giving spirit that Kauter has done in the past, by issuing a code to download her forthcoming “live” EP FINGERPRINT for free. Punters will get a lot more after a brilliant night of live music.
