The Living End and Silverchair are 2 of Australia’s most popular and iconic trios. With their high energy rockabilly anthems and virtuosic guitars solos ‘The Living End’ have been a staple of the Aussie music scene ever since 1994 with the release of their breakthrough singles “Second Solution” and “Prisoner of Society”. Silverchair also gained worldwide popularity in 1994 with the release of their hit single “Tomorrow” and a string of rock/grunge anthems that would see them become one of the most successful Aussie bands of all time, bringing home a record 21 ARIA Awards. Both bands have continued to re-invent themselves year after year, and continue to remain relevant in today’s music industry. THE LIVING CHAIR brings all the best material from both trios into one exciting and energetic live show. From the classic breakthrough hits, to the modern anthems like “White Noise” and “Straight Lines”. THE LIVING CHAIR also pays homage to the songs that paved the way for both band’s success, and put Australia on the musical map. With unique interpretations of Aussie classics such as “Down Under”, “Run to Paradise”, “Khe Sahn”, “You’re the voice” and more. Leading the band on guitar and vocals is 25 year old Jay Parrino, (aka “JP” finalist of Australia’s Got Talent 2009) whose knack for musical interpretation has earned him millions of hits on youtube, and glowing praise from his peers.
