Grahame Bond has always been attracted to danger, whether it be living with head-hunters in New Guinea, dealing with man-eaters in advertising or creating total bloody chaos on television. He has spent his life constantly changing roles on his quest to find the perfect Imaginary Family. Grahame has had a long and varied career, after graduating from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Architecture he moved into television, appearing on the ABC; with The Aunty Jack in the 70’s, then Flash Nick from Jindavick, Wollongong the Brave, The Off Show and in the 80’s News Free Zone. In late 77’ he was invited to appear on London Weekend Television in an Aunty Jack Special. Next he tried musical theatre and with Jim Burnett wrote Boy’s Own McBeth which successfully toured Australia and travelled to America. Then came Captain Bloody a tribute to Errol Flynn and more recently he completed a National Tour of The Aunty Jack Show and Tell Show with his long-time musical partner Rory O'Donoghue. During this busy career Grahame also managed to compose soundtracks for films ,write commercial jingles , work as a Creative Director in advertising , appear as the architect on Channel 7‘s Better Homes and Gardens and travel the world documenting archaeological digs. My Imaginary Family is about a bizarre childhood, a chaotic period of schooling, a ridiculous University education during the sexual revolution which finally produces a degree in Architecture. With academic success, why did he choose a life of poverty in the Arts? Grahame’s stories and songs are full of humour, whimsy and pathos.
