Jeff Duff formed the Prophets in the mid nineties to carry on the tradition of these trail blazing jazz-rock bands, particularly that of BS&T. The Prophets quickly secured a residency at the Basement drawing enthusiastic crowds to their exciting live shows. Not without it's controversy, the band caused a storm at the Basement in 1999 when one of Jeff's social experiments resulted in a riotwhen the dust settled the Prophets redeemed themselves to become even more popular at the club. Jeff Duff & the Prophets released their debut album Kiss my apocalypse in 1998 to critical acclaim. The album featured many cameos including an appearance by Dwayne Bailey guitarist from legendary American band Chicago. Apart from the inimitable voice of Jeff, the bands line-up features some of Australias leading musicians including pianist Noel Elmowy,guitarist Paul Berton and bassist Chris Soulos not to mention the star studded horn section.... Blue Beat presents the Prophets performing original material from their album along with classic horn driven hits including 'Spinning wheel' 'You made me so very happy' 'Does anybody really know what time it is'...
