Selected from the collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, this exhibition presents over thirty icons of Australian modern art, works by Arthur Boyd, Grace Cossington Smith, William Dobell, Russell Drysdale, Donald Friend, James Gleeson, Roy de Maistre, Sidney Nolan, Margaret Olley, John Olsen, Margaret Preston, Lloyd Rees, Geoffrey Smart, Roland Wakelin, Brett Whiteley, and Fred Williams. Newcastle Region Art Gallery is the only New South Wales venue for this exhibition, which will also include complementary works by these artists from its collection. An admission fee applies: $8 general public, $5 members/concession. A partnership between the Newcastle Region Art Gallery and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
