“I’m not sure whether the Tasmanian tiger exists or not… that’s the really interesting part.” - James Newitt To Catch a Tiger is part museum display, part public archive and part film set. It’s an intriguing art exhibition involving performances, images, objects and stories relating to that elusive legend; the Tasmanian tiger. In this realm of fact and fiction everyone has a part to play. From the dark to the compelling, the ‘evidence’ presented will have you asking: what’s real, what’s imagined and what’s yet to be discovered? To Catch A Tiger is part of Star/Dust, a year-long series of contemporary art experiences developed by three Tasmanian artists and presented with the support of Detached Cultural Organisation.
