Refine your painting skills and experience the pleasure of working with oils at this still-life workshop with celebrated artist Lewis Miller. Lewis will provide demonstrations, a still-life arrangement and sketching exercises to help you warm up. You’ll be encouraged to explore composition and select a rich palette to achieve a ‘luscious’ result. Lewis Miller is one of Australia’s leading figurative artists, known for his compelling portraits, nudes and superb painterly still life works. He has won awards including the Archibald Prize (1998), Savage Club Painting Prize (2011), Belle Arti Chapman and Bailey Art Award (2010) and the Sporting Portrait Prize (Art Gallery of NSW, 2000). He was Australia's first official artist in Iraq (2003). Lewis has works in collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of NSW, NGV, University of NSW and the Biblioteque Nationale de France.
