South African artist William Kentridge is one of the most significant artists of our time. Kentridge is internationally renowned for his animated films, based on charcoal drawings that explore the complex history of South Africa, the legacy of apartheid and the nature of human emotions and memory. This exhibition presents a series of works on paper, sculptures and the film Tide Table. In this film Kentridge examines the devastating impact of HIV and Aids on South Africa through the eyes of a ruthless Johannesburg industrialist. The Glasshouse Regional Gallery would like to acknowledge the Art Gallery of NSW and Annandale Galleries, Sydney for their support with this exhibition.
