Shadows at Play. Hailing from the Blue Mountains Shadows At Play formed halfway through 2011. They mix various genres from folk to acoustic to jazz. They performed their very first gig together in the heats of the Springwood Contest. Host Carolyn Woodorth said: "They sounded great; a touch of Coldplay but very much their own sound, good dynamics, well structured originals, just the right mix of electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, uke, harmonica and harmonising vocals." Gene Fehlberg. With his musical origins centered around worship, the roots of rhythm and blues and the lush NSW far north coast, Gene Fehlberg packages the diversity of today's musical styles. Gene is musically accomplished and enjoys channeling the familiar into something fresh. His songs seek to remain accessible and honest, a homage to the songwriter tradition. He primarily focuses on human interaction and a footnote on the whys and wherefores of life, love and relating. Successful or otherwise... Kath Cox. From Kansas, Florida, Hawaii, American Samoa, to Queensland and the infamous 'Gong', NSW, Australia, Kath writes blues,heartland and country. Her singing has been praised by critics as having Joplin-like qualities on her slower ballads and compared to Lucinda Williams on her original country songs. Kath will perform solo at the Basement, relying largely on her arresting lyrics to entertain you. Belinda Robinson. Sang with the senior stage band at school for 7 years and has performed at many Jazz festivals including Darling Harbour, Manly, Thredbo, and Hunter Valley. Currently singing with several performing bands and Sutherland Shire choral society, performs vocal and piano solos for functions. Belinda been teaching singing, piano and Music theory for 5 years and is currently studying Arts (music) at University of Sydney, Samantha Johnson. Samantha started writing songs almost 20 years ago and has played at pubs and other venues all over Sydney including the CEO Sleep Out at Luna Park last June. She has a Diploma of Contemporary Music from Eora College and was the popular vote winner at the Songwriters and Performers Contest at Kogarah Hotel Bryan Farley. Singer/songwriter from Blue Mountains. Started as a singer in rock bands in the early 90's in Sydney and moved to the mountains in the late 90's. Wife bought me an acoustic guitar for my 30th birthday and I started to write folk rock songs and now have a catalogue 20+ songs. Bryan was the Judges Choice at the Songwriters and Performers Contest at Springwood Sports Club
