With its catchy hook, guitar drive and radio-friendly chorus, it was no surprise that Hayley Warner immediately fell in love with “Good Day” when she first heard the song. It was released as her debut solo single on December 11.
“You just want to turn it up as soon as it comes on the radio,” the Australian Idol 2009 runner-up says. “It’s a good representation of who I am as an artist.”
“Good Day” exhibits that same rock-chick brashness and infectiousness which 17-year old Hayley has shown on stage since she started playing in bands in her early teens. Her first band Cloud Nine played in pubs and schools around southern Sydney. “I left school at 16, and I had to prove I had made the right decision.” In her second band, Bleached Academy, she helped to write the songs which were released on their EP.
