It’s been a significant time since The
Devoted Few loaded up the Tarago,
grabbed the well-thumbed Gregory’s
and waved goodbye to their own beds. But that time has come again as the band prepare
for a whistle-stop East Coast tour in the lead up to the release of their new album, `Baby,
You’re A Vampire’, in February 2009.
The Devoted Few may have been quiet since
the success of their last singles Sleep Less and
Don’t Listen To Us, but they’ve been far from
inactive. From a year of spinning discs for the
hip kids as one of the leading Purple Sneakers’
DJs, to touring the world with Sarah Blasko,
singer Ben Fletcher and his fellow Devoted Few
members are ready to show just what they’ve
been working on for the past two years.
`Baby, You’re A Vampire’ was recorded at
Sydney’s Origami and BJB Studios by Anton
Hagop (silverchair, Dissociatives) and (Scott
Horscroft (The Panics, Sleepy Jackson) and
mixed in Nashville, Tennessee by Jacquire
King, the man behind the desk for the Kings
Of Leon. The first single from the album, The Death Of Us, found its way on to jjj within
48 hours of being delivered to the station and has received strong support from both the
blog world and community stations around the country.
