Description:
“TO GOOD TIMES AND HARD YARDS” Most of us have a mile long list of bands we never got to see, of bands we pray will one day reform or simply just play more often. We wish our aging minds could recall the exact line up of a band from the past and we have all hoped someone would uncover lost footage of that band and release it on DVD. Too many noteable Australian bands from the past never actually had a live show filmed (yes boys and girls there was a time when mobile phones and digital cameras didn’t exist), some of them never made it beyond an album and some of them haven’t made it into the mainstream music history books. Time for the good news! The folks at Century Venues have made it their mission with “That Then This Now” to pay homage to some of these legendary bands with a special run of live shows that will be filmed and released on DVD! Kicking off this series on Friday August 29 at The Factory Theatre are two legendary bands! Sydney’s Crow and Melbourne’s Hoss. Crow formed in Sydney in 1998. Juice Magazine named them “…the best Australian band since The Birthday Party”. The band went onto release 4 Albums and earned an ARIA nomination in 1993. Hoss formed in the late 80’s in Melbourne, known for their great live shows the band went onto release a swagger of albums, EP’s and 7” singles. The band were still writing and recording up until late 2005 . Both bands will be playing extra long sets so rest assured you will be hearing all your old faves
