Melbourne based Jackson Jackson certainly made a name for themselves with music critics and live music fans when their first album was released in 2007. Now they’re back to satisfy old and new fans alike with their second album ‘Tools For Survival’ set for release October 11, and a national tour from September through to November.
‘All Alone’, the first single to be lifted from ‘Tools For Survival’, is at radio now and will be available digitally on September 20.
A folk rock psychedelic collective of musicians led by Harry James Angus (Vocals/Trumpet; The Cat Empire) and Producer/composer Jan Skubiszewski, Jackson Jackson’s live show features a wall of synthesisers, drums, guitars, and soaring melodies from the 5 piece vocal section; the live show is where epic retro comes face to face with the future.
Jackson Jackson’s first album ‘The Fire Is on The Bird’ earned the band an ARIA Nomination for Best Urban Release (07), and a song ‘Eliza’ in Triple J’s Hot 100. While they managed to fly just under the radar in ‘07, they were quietly but quickly gaining huge momentum on the live scene, playing the main stage at Falls Festival, Blues & Roots, Woodford...and headlining their own shows nationally.
If you count yourself amongst Jackson Jackson’s top 1000 friends, you might have to prepare to share them this time around. The band will grace stages nationally with songs from both albums. Tickets are on sale now.
