Description:
This intriguing line-up will perform the Bell award-winning trombonist's extended 45 minute work work ‘R/U/L’ (premiered at the 2006 Melbourne Women’sInternational Jazz Festival), as well as a fresh batch of shorter compositions,which have been influenced by artists as diverse as Roberta Flack and other soul exponents, Cannonball Adderley and John Hollenbeck’s Claudia Quintet. Joining Barnett, he group line up features Eugene Ball (trumpet), Xani Kolac (violin), Adam Simmons (baritone sax/bass clarinet), Christopher Hale (acoustic bass guitar) and Ben Hendry (drums).
