Continuing his assault on audiences around the country, Tomás Ford is on tour in late July to promote his new website at tomasford.com (.)
Ford starts his shows tweaking electro beats behind a fortress of milk crates and gadgetry. By the end he’s launched himself all over the room, changed costumes, pulled an arsenal of jazz dance moves and invaded the personal space of everyone present.
“Half the fun of my show is watching the reactions of everyone else,” explains Ford. “The other half is when I focus on you.”
His one man electro spectacle has been called “edgy, dark and unsettling, and one hell of an experience“ (dB Magazine, Adelaide) and “pure entertainment” (Drum Media, Perth) that “puts other electro acts to shame” (Drum Media Perth).
tomasford.com is a maze of blogs, mp3’s and Shitfilter, a guide to the underground of the web. “It’s a good place to go to figure out if you’ll enjoy the show or not,” says Ford. “or just to waste away your afternoon. There’s enough content on there to distract you for weeks.”
The tour sees him hit some cities for the first time, including Canberra, Hobart and Bendigo and return to Sydney and Melbourne before winding up with a huge show in his hometown of Perth. More information and music downloads are avaliable at tomasford.com (.)
