The Kill Devil Hills East Coast Tour
The Kill Devil Hills
The Kill Devil Hills East Coast Tour The Kill Devil Hills @ Wheatsheaf Hotel
9 May 2008
Tour Name:
The Kill Devil Hills East Coast Tour
2 people have made this one of their favourite events so far.
Description:
Its been almost a year since the rambling, 6 piece swamp rock darlings of the wild west – the Kill Devil Hills- played shows on the East Coast. In that time, they toured to Canada and the US, won a handful more WAMi awards, released their second album to rave reviews in Europe and recorded a song especially for this trip. The song is called "Hungry and Down" and will be available on limited edition 7" vinyl only at these shows. It was recorded live with Award winning engineer Dave Parkin (Snowman, Bob Evans, Red Jezebel) at his Blackbird Studio and mixed by their masterful live sound engineer, Dr David Carter. The B-side was recorded in a deserted workers club in the middle of the bush in WA, using only one microphone and is a real treat.
For those unfamiliar with the band, the Kill Devil Hills formed in early 2003 as a cowpunk trio and have mutated into a sonic stew of rock, folk, gospel, blues and punk, carving out their own weird take on the great Australian tradition of swamp music. They’ve released 2 albums and soon a single and are quite frankly, one of the best live bands in Australia at the moment.
