A brief sojorn down leafy Bayswater Rd in Sydney’s Kings Cross will soon bring you to No. 24, an historic 4 storey Victorian terrace house and home to countless legends, curiosities, and varied debauchery over the last century. In the 1940’s the grand old building was an extravagant whore-house, in the 80’s an infamous artist’s squat, and today it stands transformed as Sydney’s most unique bar and nightclub experience – that preferred palace of perennial partying, The World Bar. Our maze of rooms, booths, stairwells and hidden areas is open for exploration 7 days and nights a week, accented by an expansive outdoor terrace garden. A wide range of clientele enjoy an eclectic mash of entertainment - local indie bands ply their noisy craft in Parisian-inspired nooks; international DJs push cutting-edge club sounds in a NY-style underground nightclub; young artists exhibit their work in an upstairs gallery room that later becomes a rave-cave. Hipsters, club kids, travellers and locals - people of all ages and walks of life - make up the thousands who cross our threshold weekly. In a matter of hours, a space populated by civilised sippers enjoying a cab sav and a gourmet pizza early evening evolves to become a surging mass of dance floor sexiness and stays that way til sun-up. Rinse, repeat.
